Position Overview - The Assistant Golf Professional acts as a member of the Professional Staff in the management of the day to day golf operations of the facility.
The Assistant Golf Professional will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and other Assistant Professionals to accomplish short and long term goals of Prospect Bay Country Club.
All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction for members and guests.
Specific Responsibilities (Include, but are not limited too) - Maintain a welcoming and positive attitude to promote a quality golf experience to members and guests and to enrich the work environment for team members.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
- Assist in the promotion, planning, organization and execution of the highest quality golf events for members, guests and outside entities.
- Teach and promote the game of golf to all members.
Operations - Assist with golfer check-in, control and manage daily play and tee sheet data capture and optimization.
- Assist with all opening and closing procedures.
- Train, supervise and schedule Golf Operations Outside Staff with the goal of ensuring the highest quality customer experience.
- Assist in managing golf cart fleet, practice facilities and club storage.
- Effectively manage pace of play on the golf course to ensure satisfaction by all players.
- Assist in providing club repair and club fitting services.
Golf Shop Retail - Execute the daily operations of the golf shop.
- Offer specialist advice using product knowledge, recommend products and services to exceed customer expectations.
- Assist in inventory control of hard goods, soft goods and special orders including:
ordering procedures, receiving procedures and point of sale.
- Ensure that the golf shop is clean, orderly, well stocked and professionally presented at all times.
- Monitor and regularly update sales display areas and merchandise high traffic areas.
Instruction - Create and implement player development programs for all skill levels to include juniors, ladies, beginners and advanced players.
- Play with members of all skill levels - Give lessons to members - Club fitting Knowledge & Skills - Maintain PGA membership in good standing in an active classification.
- Actively pursue and achieve PGA membership (if a PGA associate) in a timely manner through the PGA PGM program.
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive customer service focused attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Golf Genius, JONAS Point of Sale & Tee Sheet software Experience - Private club experience is preferred, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of the golf swing and experience teaching players of all skill levels.
- College degree preferred, High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
